Personal Information:
About Me:
This is my eighth year teaching at Fox Township. I taught first and fouth grade in a shared position my first year here, then I taught fourth grade until three years ago when I moved up to a fifth grade position. I married my senior sweetheart. We have been together for twenty one years, married 15. We have two children, a daughter and a son; and a big overgrown golden retriever that acts like a child.
College and Degrees:
I attended Mansfield University and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently seeking National Board Cerification for Literacy in Reading/LanguageArts.
Activities:
I enjoy being outdoors. I love boating, skiing (both water and snow), hunting, fishing, Rhino riding, and snowmobiling.
Favorite Books:
Are you My Mother and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Favorite Quotes:
"If you think getting an education is expensive, try ignorance."
Interests:
I am interested in becomming Nationally Board Certified and teaching at a college level to inspire future educators or even possibly becomming a motivational speaker.
Employment History:
I worked at a powdered metal plant right out of college for a couple years. Then I was employed as a substitute in the district I currently teach for six years prior to becomming full time.
Why Do I Teach?:
I had a fourth grade teacher that had an enormous impact on my life as a struggling student, and I teach because it is all I've ever wanted to do since then. I hope to inspire my students to be all they can be regardless of their academic, social or emotional limitations.
