Class Description:
My classroom consists of 25 student with special education related needs - autism, developmental delay, speech impairment, or orthopedic impairments. There are also 4 students who get to be role models and join our classroom but do not have a specialized need. Through a 2 1/2 hour preschool class we learn everything from correct hygiene, play skills, speech and language, and pre-academics as well as specialized educational goals for each child.

Needs:
My students can always need new hands on materials to learn with. I love focusing on STEAM based projects that help them explore the world around them.
My Philosophy:
There's no such as a challenging learner but just a need to find the right adaptations to suit the child's way of learning.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I've been teaching special education preschool for 5 years. I have 3 of my own young children. Outside of playing with all the littles in my life I enjoy a few solitude moments to run or read a good book.
College and Degrees:
Master's degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Listening and Spoken language for those with hearing loss. - Utah State University
Why Do I Teach?:
I love helping students struggling to learn basic adaptive, communication, and pre-academic skills achieve leaps and bounds within such a short amount of time. I get to be their first exposure to "school" and I love making it a fun place for growth and learning.
