I teach Louisiana Studies (social studies) to four classes of 33-34 students each. Our students learn about the geography, origins, culture, economics, government, and people of our state.

My Philosophy:
My philosophy is that all students deserve the same level of education, regardless of their economic status. In our world that is moving toward fully digital education everyday, classrooms that don't currently have handheld technology are falling behind. Especially in social studies, where virtual tours are the only way many of the students will see historic landmarks and other important locations in their lifetimes. This much needed technology also allows for interactive digital assessments that provide real-time data that helps the teacher check for understanding.

I am a wife and mother of two adopted children who became a teacher less than six months ago. I wanted to become a teacher my whole life, but didn't chase my dream until January of this year!

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I want to ignite a passion for social studies in my students. Social studies provides transferrable skills such as research, document interpretation, and problem solving, which are vital for success in any career path. I inspire them to dream without limits!
