Washington Middle School
Class Information:
Students per Class: ~500
Class Description:
This is more for the whole school. Washington Middle has approximately 500 students in grades 5-8. The school is made up of both low-income and middle class students.
Position:
School Library Media Specialist
Needs:
We would like to have a digital camera lab that we could share throughout the school. This way many teachers and students will be benefiting from this technology. We are located less than a mile from the Roger Tory Peterson Institute and their bird watching trails and aquatic life, this lab would give us the opportunity to take field trips to the Institute and students could document their experience and use the photos to identify different animal and plant species. The students would also be able to create individual picture books, business cards, use PhotoShop to edit their very own Photos, and be able to learn the digital technology. Having this lab would anable Washington Middle School to offer a real hands-on outside activity to our students. They would also be used by our Advantage Program which is for our gifted students in the district. Since the whole school will be using them they will be a Library AV item and be checked out to individual teachers when requested.
