Single Unit Why I need this:
I would like to offer one-to-one computing using Chromebooks for Kindergarten students. This will allow students to learn specific technology skills while being guided by the classroom teacher (whole group), and will also allow for ease of logging in and maintaining student accounts. We have used shared devices in the past, but our challenges include finding time for small group technology instruction and managing log-ins for young children. Having a full class set would allow students to systematically learn basic technology skills, while also streamlining classroom instruction.

Needs:
We are in need of Chromebooks for students to use. This will enhance our ability to connect students to digital platforms and continue igniting their passion to learn. By having Chromebooks, students will begin learning how to access educational websites, conduct research, learn typing, and more. Technology in the kindergarten classroom is essential for giving young students a good introduction to these new skills.
My Philosophy:
I believe students learn best through play. This includes structured and unstructured play, as well as digital play. Students have so much to learn from the world around them! I am a proponent of the constructivist teaching and philosophy, which adopts the idea that students construct meaning from the experiences they have. Technology allows us to expand those experiences to infinite possibilities within the classroom.
