Mr. Ron Mason
Add Me as a Friend!
Eastmont Senior High School
Hometown:
Wenatchee, WA
Class Information:
Room Number: 217
Students per Class: 103
Class Description:
I teach 61 Pre-Algebra students, 23 Algebra students, and 19 General Chemistry students.
Position:
Math/Science
Needs:
One class of mine has 19 Pre-Algebra students of which 18 are classified as special needs with various learning disabilities. I need to get into their "heads" and know what they are thinking and what they know. I am in desperate need of a classroom set of Student Response Systems. Too many students fail to respond to requests for help and how much they understand the topics at hand. I am also in need of specialized electronic equipment to do some extremely high interest experimenting with student made 12 foot hot air balloons that will travel almost out of sight and several miles from the launch sight.
My Philosophy:
Teachers have one of the most important influences in the lives of our youth of today. To many youth, teachers are the only adults in their lives that care, who desire for them to excel in life, who want more out of life for them, who are either the mom or dad influence that is missing. I teach because I care!

Why Do I Teach?:
41 years of my life have been devoted to helping each student find that special interest in math and science that causes them to desire to learn, to explore, to wonder, to experiment, to seek to know more. I teach to be a friend to the many students who are needing encouragement and acceptance. I teach because it keeps me young!
