Class Description:
I serve as the learning disabilities teacher for a K-5 elementary school. I currently have 13 learning disability students ranging in grades 1-5. I help students with learning disabilities in the context of their assigned general education classroom (“inclusion model”). As a result of the “inclusion model,” I rotate from classroom to classroom and may teach anywhere from 24-78 different students per day, (an average of 51 students). I work in close relationship with the general education teachers. Many of the lessons developed and proposed for digital wish profile will benefit multiple classrooms at Downs Elementary grades 2-5.

Students with special needs require unique and creative hands-on experiences. The needs of our students require technology based materials to make such learning experiences possible.

Why Do I Teach?:
I love to help students understand material that is hard to remember or comprehend. I teach because I love to take larger projects into smaller steps and help students understand each aspect working towards the larger whole.
