Class Information:
Students per Class: 500+
Class Description:
I teach a special areas class where students learn about the principles and applications of technology. Our school is 11 years old and the technology in our lab has never been replaced. Our school is set in a rural/suburban area at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Many of my students come to me not knowing how to turn on a computer and have never done anything more than play games in school on a computer.
Position:

Needs:
I need help updating my lab. My school district's funds are spread thin during these budget shortfalls, and my technology lab is not a high priority. I am looking for outfit my classroom with digital cameras, camcorders, a SMARTboard, and any newer computers we can get. Anything would be an improvement for our technology lab.
My Philosophy:
Children should be introduced and exposed to many different opportunities while at school. All students have the capability to learn and achieve, it is our job as educators and adults to help foster their love of learning and curiosity. If a student is not successful, I look at what I could have done better and work on igniting the fire within that child to learn and grow. Children are our nations most precious asset. If we foster our children, our country will see even more success in the future.
