HP Chromebook 14, $4536.00, 0.00% raised
HP Chromebook 14 Rank:
Single Unit Why I need this:
One of the ways we address the various need levels, learning styles, and disabilities of our students is through providing them several options and methods of differentiated instruction. Having a classroom set of Chromebooks would open up a world of possibilities for our language and cultural studies.

One of the wonderful things we do in our classroom is explore language in the context of culture. This being the case we explore all the Spanish speaking cultures throughout the year. It would be wonderful if our students could digitally create and physically reproduce artifacts/buildings/art pieces that relate to the culture they are studying

Class Information:
Room Number: S104
Students per Class: 122
Class Description:
Our classroom hosts 5 periods of Spanish level 1 and 1 period of Spanish level 2. All of our classes are ICR (In Class Resource) therefore, we always have a mix of both Special education and General education students. I work with a wonderful co-teacher who supports and leads our class with me. Our students are diverse and dedicated to the study of Spanish as a second language.
Position:
Classroom Teacher
Needs:
We need resources to help differentiate instruction and materials that help students have authentic and valuable contact with the Spanish language.
My Philosophy:
All students can learn. Language is a breathing growing organism. The more voices we add to a language the more it can grow and thrive. The language, the cultures, the communities and the students all form a mutually beneficial relationship that helps them all grow and benefit.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am a first year Spanish teacher. I love the school and community that has taken me in as one of its own. I love teaching and I love who I am as a teacher. College and Degrees:
I am a graduate from Miami Dade College (Associates in Arts in Education) and Rutgers- Camden University (Bachelors in Spanish). I am currently applying to several graduate programs with a focus on Applied Linguistics.
Activities:
I love to read, plan lessons, play video games, travel. Most of all I love to spend time with my family. My husband and son love to go on adventures and I love to go with them every chance I get.
Favorite Books:
I have several but if I have to choose in English I love the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling with the third book, Prisoner of Azkaban, being my overall favorite. In Spanish, I love El libro salvaje by Juan Villoro.
Favorite Quotes:
"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart." - Nelson Mandela
Interests:
Cultural studies, paper crafting, travel, video gaming, spending time with my family, continued education.
