About Me:
I am an aspiring teacher! I can't wait to have my own language arts classroom! But until then I am happy to substitute, volunteer with my youth group, and teach (and tutor) with the Upward Bound program.
I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I lived in Arizona for 10 years and I fell in love with it!

I want to learn how to do costuming and get more involved in that! I love reading, watching TV, going to movies, learning about and using web page design and Flash. I spend a lot of time with my family and my cats are the lights of my life! I love food! I love to cook it and I love to eat it! My boyfriend and I are always exploring new eateries looking for vegetarian delights!
Favorite Books:
Ender's Game series, Twilight series, Wuthering Heights, anything horror or supernatural thriller :) and I love books that "make you feel"
Interests:
costuming, space and science, computer technology, science fiction, Arizona, history
Employment History:
Substitute teacher for 1 1/2 years in Arizona and 1 year in California. Computer lab assistant for an elementary school for 3 years. Tutored for Kaplan tutoring (SCORE!) and have taught and tutored with Upward Bound for a year. Aside from that I have worked in retail and office settings a various times in my life :D
Why Do I Teach?:
I am a substitute teacher during the week and I do it because I love being in the classroom. I hope to have a middle school language arts classroom someday. I love finding new ways to teach students all of the fascinating information there is out there! Learning should be fun and IS fun.
I volunteer as a youth group leader for many reasons. My Faith Formation director needed the help and I had experience with the age group and a desire to work with them. It is a new program and I find it exciting to have a hand building it from the ground up. And, most of all, I wanted to share my faith with an age group that I know is at a crucial identity forming stage in their lives!
Oh, I also volunteer lead the middle school VBS (Vacation Bible School) group!
