My class is a energatic group of boys and girls. We are at the lower end of our district and most of the students come from disadvantaged households. The students are raised by single mom's, grandparents, and low income famillies. The majority of students can not afford school supplies, fieldtrips or classroom parties. Because of our location, we usually do not get the technology funding that other schools acquire. This year with budget cuts we will not recieve any help from our district with our technology needs.
Position:
teacher
Needs:
I would like to have several MP3's for students to listen together to books on tape and download music to make movies to go along with their pictures. I would also like to have 2 digital cameras for the students to use to make scrap books, movies, plays and use with their writing. The projector would be used to help the students display their work, work together and expand their visual learning.
My Philosophy:
I believe all students can learn and that learning is fun. I build on students caring for each other by building a sense of family, safety, caring, and loved atmosphere. This enables all students to learn and grow. With the added technology we would be able to make learning fun, inspirational, build community pride and encourage our students to grow.
