Hubbertville School
Hometown:
Hubbertville, AL
Class Information:
Room Number: 33
Students per Class: 120
Class Description:
I teach english and/or reading to grades 7 through 12 so my class description varies upon which period of the day I am in. I have anywhere from 10 to 30 students per class. We cover grammar, writing, and reading/literaturein each class and I try to make my lessons as engaging and fun as possible.
Position:
English/Language Arts
Needs:
Since our school is in a rural area and we don't have a lot of financial support from the community due to the poverty in this area our needs are vast and wide. At this time I am trying to focus on increasing the amount of technology available for student use in the classroom.
My Philosophy:
I feel that students should be the focus of the classroom and the lessons. I encourage class discussion, participation, and student led lessons. If the students have some control over their education they will be more likely to take responsibility for their learning and take pride in their education.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am a second year teacher. I am 24 years old and married with a seven year old daughter and another one on due in November.

I graduated in 2007 from the University of North Alabama with a bachelor's in Secondary Education: English/Language Arts and an additional certification in English as a second language.
Activities:
I am the sponsor for the class of 2013. I am also the co-sponsor for the beta club and the scholar's bowl.
Favorite Books:
I love anything by James Patterson. I also enjoy most young adult novels.
Employment History:
I taught at Handley Middle School in Roanoke, AL during the 2007-2008 school year and I am currently teaching at Hubbertville High School for the 2009-2010 school year.
Why Do I Teach?:
Because I hope to share my love of reading and writing with my students so that they can become avid readers and writers.
