I teach K-5 students with moderate-severe physical and cognitive disabilites in a regular public elementary school. The majority of my students are non-verbal and have many medical as well as physical needs. There is a second special education classroom in our building with students with fewer physical and medical needs. We work closely between the two classes and often share students for certain lessons or activities throughout the school day.
Position:
special education teacher
Needs:
Most of the students in my classroom have visual impairments and have difficulty seeing the computer or TV screen. We received a grant last year that allowed us to purchase a LCD projector and it is amazing the difference this makes in my students' visual attention to lessons. I would like to have wireless slate so we can use the whiteboard for interactive lessons.
