This school year I have been blessed with a very diverse classroom of 20 students. My classroom includes students with special needs, autism, hearing impairments, English language learners, and regular education students.
Position:
1st grade teacher
Needs:
Interactive technology in the classroom can be my key to meeting the diverse needs of these students in my classroom, then providing me the opportunity to share my experience with other teachers. The ability to show a visual representation of the skills that I am teaching will enhance their learning and provide a learning experience that I cannot otherwise achieve. Providing interactive technology will allow my students to expand their knowledge base by allowing them to work at their individual levels when learning a new skill.
I would like to provide my 20 students, along with the other 800 students in our building, access to a document camera and SMART Board. These technological tools would be used for ongoing instruction and training. Currently, our school does not have a document camera and we share one SMART Board.
My Philosophy:
All students can learn and succeed. As I teacher, I must discover how they learn best and use that information to meet their educational needs.
