Personal Information:
About Me:
I was a professional modern dancer in New York, and toured in performing groups during the 70's and 80's. I came to teaching through modern dance. My mother was from Chile, South America, and I grew up with a great appreciation for culture and the arts. My ability to communicate and my respect for other cultures have given me the foundation to become a teacher of English language to children who speak other languages.
College and Degrees:
B. A. in Dance, Adelphi University, New York
North Carolina ESL Certification in 1989
Activities:
Music, dancing, travel
Why Do I Teach?:
I am a communicator. I have been a teacher all my life. First, a teacher of modern dance, and now a teacher of English as a Second Language. I teach to inspire and motivate my English language learners to fulfill their unique potential, and to instill in them an appreciation for learning that will become a lifelong pursuit.
