I am a Intergration Specialists. I work with teachers to develop technology lesson plans and I teach classes myself also. I teach all kids PreK-5th.
Position:
Instructional Technologist
Needs:
I have enough computers for the students that come to my lab. I could use more laptops so that we could have a mobile lab for our school. I could also use auxillary hardward for the students such as video cameras, digital cameras, and Ipods.
My Philosophy:
I believe every teacher needs to engage students. And I know technology is one way to engage them. Students are already using computers and the Internet for recreation. As teachers in the 21st century we need to use tools that students already use to help them learn what they don't. Teachers cannot use the excuse that they don't know or understand technology because our kids do and if we don't meet their needs they will lose interest.

Why Do I Teach?:
I started out because of a love for children's literature. I wanted to read to children and share with them stories like my mother had shared with me. I worked in different school districts I learned different teaching practices and was always eager to use my kids as guinea pigs to try out what I had just learned the day before.
Now with the emphasis on assessment I want to show teachers and students that there is an alternate way to learn besides textbooks and worksheets. I want to show that technology is not just for recreation but can foster learning for a lifetime.
