Class Description:
Language Arts: The students are making personal journals of their lives. The journals will include personal writing, poetry, photos,ephemera, personal artwork and stories. The journals will also include the student's best work from other classes.

Needs:
The kids would love the chance to use flip cameras to record their personal stories and also for recording news stories about their town that they deem important.
My Philosophy:
Every child wants to learn but it has to be something that they are interested in. If they are not interested, then they won't go there. As teacher we have to find a way to make the topic at hand exciting so that they want to know more and we have to let them use modern technology to explore the subject.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach here at the Alternative Learning Center because I can see the potential in 'at-risk' students. I try to come up with out-of-the-ordinaryways to teach them; to give them confidence; and to help them graduate.
