Class Description:
I teach Spanish to 11th and 12th graders. I strive to create an inviting classroom that is creative, clean and collaborative.
Position:
Spanish Teacher
Needs:
The only technology in my classroom is an overhead projector. My students do not have any access to a media center and very limited access to the school library. My students crave technology. They will not be prepared to participate in our digital age if they do not have ample access to technology now.
My Philosophy:
Students that grow up in communities that have limited resources should be showered with resources at school. Unfortunately, my students continue to lag behind their peers in suburban school districts because of the enormous inequities in supplies. Technology proves to be one of the greatest differences in urban and suburban schools. I cannot even take my students to a computer lab that seats more than 10 students at a time! I believe that my students deserve the same access to technology as their counterparts in other school districts. My students need the help of others to make this right become a reality.
