Needs:
My classroom is in desperate need of technology. There is one student computer, that doesn't work all that well. I have my own personal iPad that I contribute, but would LOVE to have at least 6 classroom iPads. My goal is to get centers a norm in my room. I want at least one of my centers to be a technology based center with both Reading/Language Arts & Math.

About Me:
I have been teaching since 2004. I have taught 6th, 4th, 2nd, computers, and now 5th grade. I absolutely love my job and love coming to work each day. Each day holds something new...sometimes great and sometimes not so great, but it is what keeps me going. I am married with 2 elementary school age daughters.
College and Degrees:
Middle Tennessee State University B.S. Elementary Education (K-8)
Activities:
I enjoy camping, going to the beach, crafting, and just spending time with my family. I am very active in our church, working with the kids, and going on mission trips.
Why Do I Teach?:
I became a teacher because I wanted to help students learn. The longer I teach, that reason begins to change. Do I want my students leaving my classroom with a love of learning? Yes! But I want them to leave my classroom with so much more as well. I want them to learn life skills that have become so obsolete. I want them to know I love them as if they are my own and be that one constant that many children may not have. I have had many former students come to me and thank me for helping them become who they are today. That right there far exceeds any test score, trophy, etc. I teach, because I want to see change. Change for the good.
