Needs:

My Philosophy:
As an educator I feel there is a need to encourage children to be all they can be in and out of the classroom. By using progressive ideals teachers are incorporating the following elements into their curriculum: learning by doing, problem solving, unlimited potential, self-actualization,self-esteem, discovery learning, freedom, and thinking skills. These elements are a necessity for survival in society. When children learn by doing they become self sufficient. When they learn how to solve problems they are less hesitant to criticize and analyze. When they have unlimited potential they feel as though they can reach for the stars. Self actualization allows students to go beyond mediocrity. Discovery learning introduces students to a variety of things, but the most important is having an appreciation for other cultures. And obviously thinking skills will give children the freedom to discuss, criticize, evaluate, and challenge all aspects of life. For those reasons, long live the progressivism philosophy.
