I teach students whose primary language is not English. We have about 70 ESL students in our school, primarily students whose parents or grandparents were refugees who relocated to the United States.
Position:
ESL teacher
Needs:
I would love to get my students more proficient and comfortable in using technology. Most are awed by any technology and are incredibly motivated when it is incorporated into our lessons. What I wish for are tools to help my students read and motivation to help my students write.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love that Ah-Ha moment! I grew up in rural Kansas with a desire to see the world, to make it beyond my comfort zone. I was a foreign exchange student twice to Germany, then I went into the Peace Corps later in life. My goal has always been to get people to see the world rather than just what is outside their back door. This led me to teaching, to help students learn English. This is the kind of help I wish I would have had as an exchange student.
