In the 2009-2010 school year, I will have a Social Studies and Language Arts teaching assignment. There will be around 70 students. I will have each student twice a day.
Needs:
I would like a classroom blog where we, as a class, can post our work. I would also like a like an active board to capture class discussions, work, and notes. I want to prepare my students to think, communicate and use all the possible technology to prepare them for this exciting world.
My Philosophy:
Engagement, Responsibility, Reflection are three words that come to mind when I watch my 8th graders leave for high school. Did I engage them? Did they engage? I gave them many opportunities to be responsible and maintain their rights as citizens. As we have reflected on our work during the year, did we grow and learn from our work, our interactions with each other and from our reflections. 'To know thyself" is really hard in 8th grade when they are exploring themselves and their world.
