As you enter room 407 at GES....you will see 21 eager students that are happy, engaged, and ready for the day!
I would describe our class as WELCOMING. We have a bright and inviting color scheme and everything is color coordinated. I use the same color theme for reading groups, organizing tables, etc.
The cabinet doors and the bathroom door are used to create an area where I display content information - posters, key points, etc.
At the beginning of the year I rearrange my classroom several times before I finally settle on the layout I use.

My Philosophy:
My ultimate goal as a teacher is to educate, motivate and inspire students to value lifelong learning. I strive to help them become life-long learners and to seize their own opportunities to gain knowledge. Treating students as individuals, engaging students in ways that create a deep understanding, planning and assessing, and creating a positive classroom environment, all are parts of my teaching philosophy that guide the way in which I interact with students. Learning should be enlightening and enjoyable for students. I want my students to understand that learning should take place not only in the confines of the classroom, but throughout their everyday lives. I am open to change and I constantly try to reevaluate the way I teach. I strive to provide A+ quality teaching environment and willingly regroup to improve my teaching environment. I try to vary the way I present material to students on a day-to-day basis by using, for example, the whiteboard on one day, PowerPoint the next day, and hands-on instruction or use of the Elmo on the third day. I believe the introduction to technology at the elementary level is vital to keeping up with the 21st century education. My desire is to be involved in the technology movement.
