3 x 1 1/2 hr blocks (avg 17 students each). 67.7% economically disadvantaged, 20% Limited English Proficience, 50% classified At-Risk. Special Ed and students with accomodations are mainstreamed into the classroom.
Instruction is novel-based with emphasis on reading comprehension strategies and written expression. State-mandated test given in April. Strategies specific to test are practiced throughout the year.
