The students at our school need positive adult role models. They also need a little extra special motivating. They need to see why what their learning is important and how it will help them in life.
My Philosophy:
I believe that every student can accomplish great things. It makes me sad to see 4th graders who already feel like they have failed at everything. The magic happens when I can find the key, the thing that they are the best at. That's my job!
Personal Information:
College and Degrees:
I earned my teaching credential at Humboldt State University. They had a rigorous program there that really pushed me in many ways. I took a lot away from their program about how to be a terrific educator.
Activities:
I love being outdoors! I take about a million pictures wherever I go (only about 1/3 turn out to be any good). I'm also a bit of a computer geek. I like to search around online to see what people are talking about and what kinds of resources are out there that I can use.
Favorite Books:
Being an educator, how do you pick even just a few favorite books? Pick a genre and I'll give you a few favorites from that genre. This summer I've enjoyed getting caught up with reading just for enjoyment. The last kid book that I really loved reading was the Liberation of Gabriel King.
