About Me:
I have a wide variety of interests. Before I became an educator I was professional lighting designer and had the opportunity to do alot traveling mostly throughout the United States. I enjoy the the arts, theatre, dance, and music. I also enjoying hiking, cycling and horseback riding.
College and Degrees:
I graduated from University of Maine at Orono in Orono Maine with both a Bachelors and Master degree in theatre arts. I spent thirteen years working professionally in theater. I returned to school for my Mutiple Subject Teaching credentital at San Jose State Univerity. I have also enriched my studies through online courses in Gifted and Talented education and Special Education through the Univerity of Phoenix Online. I will complete my coursework for Special Education by August of this year.
Activities:
I enjoy all sorts of activites: Mountain biking, hiking, I used to rock climb but that pretty much out for me now, I love to horseback ride and still occaissionally like to dab into the the theatre work. Design work only.

Thats tough I love to read. Love Harry Potter. Finally finishing the last book!

Employment History:
thirteen years in professional theatre. Substuited K-12 for Lake Isbella School District in Lake Isabella CA. Fours years teaching Pre-K through 3rd for Orchard School District in San Jose, CA. I also instructed Summer Enrichment Programs for them in 4th, 5th and 7th grades. taught 6th grade Science and 8th grade Career Prep and Family consumer science, another year at third grade. Was an Executive Director for Children's Play facility and I'm currently a Special Education Teacher grades 6-8th graders.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love to teach! Nothing better than seeing those eager to learn smiling faces everyday. All kids derserve to learn and esepcially in the way they learn best. I so Believe that every child is unique and that it is so important that we teach them in the way that they learn best.
