My students are first graders with a variety of backgrounds. I teach at a Title I school with 55% free and reduced lunch population. I have Special Education students integrated into my class all day.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
The students need lots of individual help. Many have limited experiences before entering school. We attempt to expand their world by integrating technology in a meaningful way.
My Philosophy:
Each child is a unique individual, with individual learning needs and styles. No one curriculum or approach works for every student, so I am constantly striving to provide each child with as many avenues of learning as possible. The early years are crucial to future success, so I take my job very seriously and continuously adapt and refine my teaching methods and approaches. I have embraced technology as one more resource and approach to providing a rich learning environment.

Why Do I Teach?:
I didn't set out to be a teacher, but several experiences at the beginning of my college years convinced me that there was nothing more rewarding for me than having a positive effect on a young child. Teaching allows me to use my creativity and intelligence to discover new ways of facilitating learning in my classroom. Every child is a puzzle to be solved, a connection to be made, a life to be enhanced.
