Class Description:
We are a Title 1 school in which many of my students are 1st generation Americans. Most of my students come from the Middle East, from countries such as Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. They are bright students who are sometimes hindered in their educational pursuits by language and economic barriers. My aim is to give my students the tools they need to succeed in the 21st century. My wish for them is to be able to make a better life for themselves and their families through the use of technology.

About Me:
I am a 5th grade teacher and mother of 2 girls, one of which is autistic. I have been at Star International Academy for 4 years and am honored to be teaching such promising young people.
College and Degrees:
BA- Oklahoma City University (1995) BS- Oakland University (2002) MAT- University of Michigan Dearborn (in progress)
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I want to impact the future. My students lives and their future pursuits are very important to me. I want them to know that they can make a difference in our world and I want to be the one who opens the door for them. i love showing a child that they are not just good, but exceptional at something and giving them the tools they need to use that skill in their everyday lives.
