Why Do I Teach?:
Making art and teaching students are altogether separate ideas - yet as an artist and as a teacher they seem completely connected. One responds to the other. One is public and one is private. One is quiet and one is active. Both stretch the mind in uniquely different and somehow similar ways. Both are fed through inspiration and hard work. It is the artist's curiosity that encourages the teacher to continue to learn and grow - without that little is possible. I will be a teacher during my adult life, but art has, is, and will be a part of my entire life.
