Class Description:
I teach an array of technology classes. My 6th graders learn basic applications using Google Apps and keyboarding, I have a general computer class for 7th and 8th graders, I teach desktop publishing, graphic design, photograpy, and photoshop while creating a yearbook in one class, and my favorite of the bunch is my video productions classes. These two classes of 78 students create feature videos to air during our daily student run live newscast for our school.
Position:
Teacher and Site Technology Leader
Needs:
All classes use cameras and camcorders to learn various multi-media applications. Due to the constant use, the equipment ages quickly. This year we had an ipad donated to our class and this tool became the most popular tool due to its multiple applications. It's used for photography, videoing, editing, as teleprompter, and so many other uses. We would like more iPads for those reasons.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy in education is to prepare my students for the demands of technology, literacy, and citizenship in real world experiences. I strive for my students to be independent thinkers and love the process of learning.
