Class Information:
Room Number: STW
Students per Class: 6
Class Description:
Autism Classroom, for students who can participate in some mainstream activities while continuing to recieve support in a resource setting.
Position:
Special Education Teacher
Needs:
The goal of my classroom is to make the learning experience visual, oral and hand's on. Talking with the students daily allows those with auditory strenghts to make gains, completing hands-on activities works well for those who are hands-on learnings, however we lack a true mode of communication using visual devices such as video projectors, interactive software and the ability to provide visual information to students. In what I beleive would be a perfect classroom for students with Autism would be a set-up that included a video projector that could be used with a computer to give students visual representations of materials or lessons that they are working on. A SMART board would provide an opportunity for notes that are written on the board, to be then printed off daily and used for study guides or daily take home notes. CLICKERS could provide instant feedback for the teacher and the students, and staff could address needs more quickly while providing a low stress environment to answering questions. My Goal is to create a positve, interactive learning environment that reaches each of the students strengths so that they have an opportunity to suceed. Thanks Mr.Gaborski
