I work with around 70 students a day who are English Language Learners. Many of these students are separated from their families, who are still residing in their homelands, including places such as the Marshall Islands, El Salvador, Mexico, and others. More than 90% of my students are on free/reduced lunch.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I grew up as a child living in abuse and extreme poverty. I had very few people in my life who saw more than just an impoverished little girl, but those people placed value on me and that was enough to encourage me to want to make a difference for other children with financial and language hurdles!
