I have a diverse class of learners, from English language learners and students with learning disabilities to bright, high-achieving students. Most of my students are economically disadvantaged.
Position:
classroom teacher
Needs:
Our school has very limited educational technology resources, other than Smartboards (which are often used as presenters) and a laptop cart of 30 computers that need to be shared among 600 students.
My Philosophy:
I believe in the learning principles of constructivism, which in our current era has shifted towards self-directed learning and the development of personal learning environments. In order to promote this self-regulated and directed learning, I need technology that students can hold in their hands and use.
