Pick us! Pick us! My students are amazing. They are bright, enthusiastic, self-conscious, struggling, curious, imperfect, needy, independent, loving and changing. They are in middle school. They are too old to be cute and innocent, but too young to have earned the respect of adults. It is a difficult time, and anyone who has ever been 12, 13 or 14 years old knows this. It is also, in my opinion, the most important, formative time of their lives. Add to the normal challenges of being in middle school the extra obstacles of living in the inner city and you might understand why I am asking for your help in fortifying my classroom with every possible resource to help these students find success. Did I mention I teach math? That's right...I have the honor of teaching the least favorite subject to the least favorite age range...and I love every minute of it. Or at least 9 minutes of every ten.
Position:
middle school math teacher
Needs:
I have one computer in my classroom and no access to any type of computer lab. I would love to enable my students to use computers during class, especially those students that need some extra visuals. There are great on-line resources that I would love to use with the kids, but as of now I don't have the computer access to do it.
