Why I need this:
Our school is 1:1 with laptops. As the librarian, I want to add digital "Making" to our services. My 5-year goal is to coach all of our 600 students (grades K - 5) to create digital products that demonstrate their understanding of curricular concepts, large and small, by identifying their audience, planning and producing content, and sharing their products through appropriate digital channels to benefit students and teachers outside of our building. This kit will fill our need for sturdy high-quality cameras and tripods that are all the same, therefore streamlining our hardware training and allowing us to get into production sooner. The more access students and teachers have to the equipment, the more opportunities they will have to learn, produce, evaluate and improve their products, which will also encourage everyone to think critically about their online reputation and the quality of the products they choose to share. |
