Class Description:
My classes are called Intro to Business/Marketingand Web Tools for E-Commerce.
Position:
Business/TechnologyTeacher
Needs:
We currently have a computer lab, but the students are starting to get into higher-end projects and we need a few things to fascilitate that process. We need at least one really good multi media computer that has the ability to use Adobe software and a good enough video card and processor to allow us to create web pages and edit video. A large, widescreen monitor would be helpful in the editing process. We also need some video cameras to allow the students to break into teams and conduct interview of local businesspeople. We would also like to start weekly business-related podcasts and need podcasting software, digital recorders, and I would love to have a couple of iPod Touches to enhance student exposure to new technology.

About Me:
This is my 15th year of teaching, but I still find myself learning better ways to do things every day! My students are AWESOME!! They are definitely more engaged when they are interested, so I try to keep the class jumping with new technology and a constant flow of information. My homelife is AWESOME too! I have a wonderful husband of 11 years named Doug and three beautiful children. Jake is almost 9, Kyla is 7, and Leah just turned 4. We also have a completely spastic toy poodle named Scooby.
College and Degrees:
I graduated from The University of Akron with a BS in Comprehensive Business Education. I am planning on returning to school to pursue an MBA . . . I just have to pass the GMAT first - YIKES!
Activities:
I seem to be much happier and active in warm weather (which is not a good thing because I live in Ohio!). I love swimming and playing with my kids.

Interests:
I have been deemed by my friends and family as the "Queen of Garage Sales" and I absolutely love getting great deals! I also love to read.
Employment History:
I have worked during college in a brokerage as an Administrative Assistant, after college at a law firm as a Legal Secretary, and started my teaching career teaching Jobs for Ohio's Graduates (JOG). I have been at my current job since the 95-96 school year.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love it . . . even when I hate it . . . I still love it. :-) I still get a kick out of seeing "the lightbulb" come on. When the alarm clock goes off in the morning, I get up thinking about what I'm going to do that day. I'm excited to get there and get started. Here's the biggest reason, though, . . . my kids (students) really seem to enjoy being in class with me. If that ever changes, I'll know it's time to throw in the towel!
