Class Description:
I currently teach 5th grade advanced math and Academically Gifted Reading Resource.
Position:
AG teacher
Needs:
I desperately need a Smartboard with the Airliner, Bluetooth, and LCD projector.
My Philosophy:
I work with students still have a hunger from education and a zeal to create, construct, and design. I believe it is my responsiblity to provide them with every opportunity I can to utilize their skills and abilities. In order to meet their needs I must reach beyond the textbook and traditional teaching practices. Technology opens up a world of opportunity for me. I can see these students and myself developing activities with the Smartboard that exceeds the teacher-made resources that are currently available online. We learn best when we are responsible for using the information in a purposeful manner. In the classroom I work as a facilitator of instruction. I want them to discover knowledge, process information, and put the learning into action. With the technology tools I'm requesting, my students and I would work daily to better ourselves and others.

About Me:
This is my 27th year of teaching in North Carolina. I have taught self-contained classes as well as specialized subject areas (math, English I, art, and social studies)in grades 4 -9. In addition to teaching, I am currently mentoring five beginning teachers in Cumberland County.
