I serve the entire population of our school - 304 students, give or take a few. However, on a weekly basis, I teach information/literacyskills to approximately 135 students who come to me for instruction
Position:
Library Media Specialist
Needs:
We are in need of tools to use for the students to CREATE - things like Flip cameras and the accessories to go with them, digital/still cameras, netbooks, etc...
My Philosophy:
I want our school to be forward thinking ; thinking of what we have that we can do something new and creative with, thinking of what is out there we don't have that we could put to use to teach the different kind of learners we have in today's classroom. I want our students to learn to THINK instead of just memorizing to pass a test or get a certain grade.

Employment History:
Taught social studies at West Fork High School in West Fork, Ar, then taught English at Waldron High School in Waldron, Ar, then taught social studies and English at Greenland High School in Greenland, Ar, and am currently the library media specialist, after several years of teaching social studies and English, at Mansfield Middle School in Mansfield, AR.
Why Do I Teach?:
Because there is NO more important job in the world. Everyone who became anyone was influenced by a teacher at some point in their life. I want to make a difference in the life of a child. There is better way to do that than to teach.
