My Social Studies classes begin at the roots of the American Revolution and work themselves through Reconstruction after the Civil War. In between these eras we also look at the expansion of the United States, Industrialization,Immigration and Urbanization, as well as Native American History. We focus on concepts of economy and government as well as global interaction.
Position:
Social Studies Teacher
Needs:
PC's for the classroom, a mobile lab would be unprecedented as we could do so many alternative assessment activities as well as units incorporating the entire team. A Smart board would allow for various activities incorporated textbook multi-media as well as internet activities incorporating geography, concept mapping, as well as posting assignments for students to access outside of the classroom.
My Philosophy:
All children have the capability to be educated in some capacity. I will never have the ability to reach every student, but I will exhaust all tools at my disposable in the attempt to educate. Students are our future and many of them need that one person to motivate them to make dreams and achieve goals. I want to be that person that is a role model, that will motivate them to find their potential, and then to explode to goals they never thought they could achieve.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach to be around our future. I teach because I love children and the responsibility for them is great. I teach because my life is what great teachers have instilled in me. Delaine McGhee in 3rd grade took the time to learn who I was and I want to do the same for my students, and teach them responsibility, integrity, and hard work along the way.
