I work with a group of 30 third grade students. This is my first year teaching grade 3. Many of my students enjoy hands -on learning and work well in small groups. For this reason, many opportunities for hands-on learning as well as materials to help them learn are important. Third graders are at a level where they can learn and work independently and research different projects for themselves.
Position:
Grade3Teacher
Needs:
As a resource o help provide opportunities for my students, so they are able to work together, research an build confidence in learning through technology, we are in need of Ipads for our classroom. Using ipads will encourage students to use technology so they can share and research with each other as partners and in small groups. Currently, our classroom has no computer or technical devices for students to use. Many of our students do not have internet access at home. For this reason, students are limited not only at home, but also have no opportunity to research and learn using many of the educational apps and programs that can assist in helping students build skills through technology. An opportunity to have enough ipads so a classroom of 30 students can work in small groups to conduct research and motivate skills in science, math, reading and writing would benefit our school and future students who are in need to learn and enjoy technical opportunities.
My Philosophy:
To educate students and help them learn by offering endless opportunities through technology and newly developed social skills. Technology enriches our youth and is currently a part of their everyday lives. By providing the much needed tools for learning, students are sure to enrich their learning at their own pace and at their own developmental ability.

Why Do I Teach?:
At a very young age, I have always wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of children.Growing up in the city of Boston, schools were culturally diverse, however, resources for education including funding for better opportunities were hard to come by. As an educator today, I teach so I can give children the opportunities they deserve and help them learn with many resources that in some districts are so hard to come by. Each student deserves a chance for opportunities and rewards to help them reach the goals they need. I became an educator to help them reach that goal.
