I teach two different classes: art and technology.
Thereare so many connections to both subjects. With the right tools, my students could venture into graphic arts, and publishing artwork.
Our current lab consists of worn out seven year old Dell PCs.
Position:
Art/Technology Teacher
Needs:
If I had unlimited funding, I would update our lab with graphic pads, iPads, digital camcorders, microphones, MacBooks, and digital cameras.
I truly believe technology can provide students with a new insight into the world around them.
My Philosophy:
Given the right tools, students can accomplish anything!
Personal Information:
About Me:
I have been teaching in public schools for sixteen years. The first fifteen years of my career I taught in Title One schools. I spend much of my time researching and developing new ways to integrate technology into art and other curriculum areas.
College and Degrees:
I have a masters degree in elementary education.
Activities:
In my down time I like to sew, scrapbook, and woodwork. I also like to repurpose old furniture. I have a shop on Etsy called Trendy Friends Boutique.
Favorite Books:
My favorite books are children's books; Llama Llama Red Pajamas, Eric Carle books, and almost any other picture book. I'm a Nana now, so I don't feel quite as silly spending hours in the children's book department at the local book store.
Favorite Quotes:
None of us are as smart as all of us.
Interests:
I have completed one romance novel (not submitted), and have several other manuscripts in the works. I would like to submit my work someday and see where it takes me.
Employment History:
Main jobs: wife, mom, Nana
Title One Assistant/Parent Coordinator

Why Do I Teach?:
Throughout my years of teaching I have not only shared my knowledge with my students, I have learned from them as well.
