Class Description:
I see every grade in the school from Pre-K through 5th grade. Our school also has 3 special needs classes. Two I see on a weekly basis.

Media Specialist
Needs:
Our school falls into the middle, not to poor but not rich. We have dedicated parents but most work and are just trying to get by themselves in this economy.
My Philosophy:
Students learn through practical use. If we teach them the skills and knowledge and then show them how it impacts their everday life the learning becomes important to them.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am a first year Media Specialist. I went back to get my Masters after some time off with family and an introduction to the Media Center as an assistant for 4 years.
College and Degrees:
I have a BA in Public Relations from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Masters in Instructional Technology from the University of Central Oklahoma
Favorite Books:
I enjoy picture books by Mo Willems and of course Dr. Seuss. I love the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan and the Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley. These books I can enjoy with my students
Interests:
I have an interest in reading, of course. I enjoy swimming, cycling and having fun with my students and children

I have been at Will Rogers Elementary for the past 5 years.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because the greatest gift to give is a love of learning or knowledge. It isn't easy but it is so rewarding when a child becomes exciting about learning and reading.
