Class Description:
I teach 7th and 8th grade English and 6th grade math. Many technology devices are used in my classroom already. I would like to expand to include computers so I can branch out into an eclassroom where most papers are done via computers.
Position:
7-8 English/6 Math
Needs:
I have access to old iBooks, but it takes them a long time to load. Many of the new websites will not work on these machines. The machines don't have the capabilities to be upgraded so we use them to type papers.
My Philosophy:
I believe technology in the classroom is the next important teaching tool. Technology must be incorporated because the students we deal with everyday are digital kids. They don't know what it is like not to have technology. Students need to be engaged in order to learn and technology accomplishes that easily.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because it is exciting to see the students light up when they understand a concept. It is rewarding to visit with the students after they are no longer in the middle school building to see how they have grown and matured into young adults.
