I am a technology enthusiast. The nation is currently at a paramount educational shift and I am dreaming big. It is exciting to explore different devices and their capabilities for daily classroom use. I envision the interdisciplinaryconnections I could promote with accessible technology: students using a tablet around town to survey community members before graphing data, taking pictures of new ecological discoveries, blogging about personal experiences and most importantly students growing with their online portfolios. Starting a 1:1, student to computer initiative, at the fourth grade level would enhance and strengthen my teaching. The world is changing, media is changing and I can not help but look at the potential.

Why Do I Teach?:
That spark in a child’s eye, the ‘I got it’ moment that transforms an inquisitive face, inspires my teaching on a daily basis. As a fourth grade teacher, I strive to build an environment that encourages student responsibility and ownership of learning. I am determined to make the reading and writing connection exciting and accessible for all students. I believe the "less is more" approach is key to exploring mathematics. Merging standards and curriculum with students into an interdisciplinarymasterpiece, thrills me.
