Why I need this: This projector would give me the freedom to move about the classroom during instruction without interfering with the image projection.
I teach Social Studies. Specifically, the course is called Geography of the Western Hemisphere. We learn about Mesoamerican cultures, European exploration and expansion, and the history of countries in the western hemisphere.
Position:

Needs:
Our classroom is in desperate need of technology. There are two computers for the entire class--the smallest class size is 22--and one of those is designated for teacher use. The second computer runs so slowly that one person, at best, can access any technology programs during a session.
My Philosophy:
I want all students to feel safe and confident in my classroom. My goal is to encourage critical thinking and active participation in society as a whole, while developing student understanding of and connection to the world around them.

All my life, I've been a teacher. It sometimes appeared I was something else, but when I really look at all the things I have done, they all involved teaching. You could say, it was the most natural fit for me.
I finally chose teaching as a profession when I realized the joy I found in helping others find answers to academic and occasionally philosophical questions. I still teach because each student I interact with has their own set of challenges that I want to help them overcome. When a student finds success, they are encouraged, and learn to love learning. I want to be a part of that.
