Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs an individual can hold. Every day, I get to mold the minds of young scholars and help them accomplish their goals. With every job, there are struggles however it is the struggles that make the job of teaching worth every second. There is no better feeling than helping a child set a goal, support him or her throughout the goal and eventually come out victorious in the end. Nevertheless, it is not always possible to support the students when supplies, technology and resources are limited. As a teacher, I try to provide as much as I can for the students to be successful in the classroom, but there are barriers and limits to what I can do. I want my students to have access to the best educational opportunities and resources so they can be successful scholars, which is the reason I am seeking outside support. Especially with the pressures of state testing and the low achievement in math specifically, it is important these students get the much-needed support and resources necessary to increase their scores so that they can continue their education and one day become productive individuals in their community. These students are our future and from what I have witnessed in the past ten years of teaching, our future is bright and promising if the students are given the support, opportunities and direction necessary to apply themselves and accomplish their goals.
