Class Description:
Currently I have 19 beautiful kindergarteners. Our urban district is a very transient one, so the number of students varies. They love listening to books and giving hugs. They are reading many sight words already, and they are anxious to begin reading. They love engaging in math, and they enjoy adding and subtracting. Overall, they love learning and recess!! :)

Needs:
My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Seventy-five percent of the students in our district are on free and reduced lunch. Poverty is a huge issue for our students. Their parents and families exhaust their efforts in trying to provide shelter, clothing, and food for their children. Helping them with school work or fostering their literacy by reading to them often cannot be their top priority.
