Lakeside is a magnet school with the focus of math, science, and technology. This focus, embedded throughout the curriculum, is taught through use of two working science labs, an outdoor classroom, and technology that includes a Techno-Plaza for student projects.
Position:
4th grade teacher
Needs:
Although we have technology in the form of computers a mobile lab, and several document projectors, we need to use Smart Boards in EACH classroom including the Techno-Plaza and science labs.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy of education is that children come to school with some knowledge base. Through teaching content and with positive guidance, I will challenge my students to take risks to explore and add to their knowledge plus gain respect for themselves and others.
Personal Information:
About Me:
My interest in teaching began while I was the director of a special needs, Easter Seal, preschool program in 1989. After it closed I had my daughter and became an at home mom for about 5 years. Soon after she enrolled in school, I started teaching preschool and did so for almost 6 years. I then realized that I would like to teach older children, so I returned to college to get my teaching license and Masters.
In total I have been teaching 11 years private and 7 public.
