I serve as the Instructional Coach for our school. In essence, that means my students are actually the teachers in our building. I work with teachers in numerous ways: observation & conferencing, assisting with setting up lesson plans, etc., classroom management.
Position:
Instructional Coach
Needs:
Because I observe frequently throughout the week, the FlipCamera would be so extremely helpful, to both me and the teacher by giving us a "permanent" record of the class and allowing us this information for reflection.
My Philosophy:
Learning can be fun for every student, regardless of age, race, station in life, etc. Teachers need to create learning environments where all students succeed.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am a lateral entry teacher, having worked in business for 15 years before entering the classsroom. I am a natural teacher, and it has been fun for me to get into the classroom and learning process formally.
College and Degrees:
I graduated from the Univ. of South Carolina in 1976 with a degree in Rel. Studies, and minors in education/history. I have over 60 graduate hours in school psychology, but did not submit a thesis, so do not hold a graduate degree. I have taken courses to achieve teacher certification, and I am currently enrolled in an online masters in Education program.
Activities:
I enjoy reading, and have formed a book club of friends who love to read. I also enjoy cooking and spending time with family.
