About Me:
I have been a teacher for 25 years. I enjoy the 4th and 5th grades the most.
College and Degrees:
I received my bachelor's degree from SIU. I have some post graduate hours.
Activities:
My pet school project is a closed circuit TV station I produce. The students do a live broadcast each morning. We announce school news, weather, sports, the pledge, and the word of the day.
Employment History:
I began my career as a teacher at a very small school in southern Illinois. My class had 16 students--eight were third graders and eight were fourth graders. It was a very challenging way to get started. After three years I moved to my hometown to teach 5th grade. Eight years later my job was eliminated due to low enrollment so I was reassigned to first grade. I stayed in first grade for one year. I found first grade was not my cup of tea. I bid on the Title I math job and have been in this position for 13 years and I LOVE it. No day is ever the same. The kids are excited to be in my class and I am excited to share my knowled with them.
